Suzanne Rodway
is currently
Group Privacy Director within the
Legal & Compliance team at Barclays
Bank.
She trained with global law firm
Linklaters, where she qualified into
the Technology, Media &
Telecommunications practice.
In this role she advised clients on
a variety of aspects of IT law but
quickly developed an interest in
global data protection and ecommerce
laws
–
an interest which has remained
firmly in place ever since.
This interest led, after completing
a number of years in the practice,
to a move in-house within Linklaters
to advise the firm on its own
privacy and information risk
management issues.

With the experience
gained in this role Suzanne then undertook a
secondment to Barclays as their interim head
of data protection. She joined
Barclays in December 2006.
In her new role as
Group Privacy Director she has
responsibility for oversight of the group's
compliance with privacy, data protection and
freedom of information laws, worldwide.
Suzanne presents
frequently on privacy issues and writes
regularly on the subject. Additionally, she is the chair of the BBA's Data Protection Advisory Panel.

Ashley Roughton
is a Barrister
specialising in Data Protection,
Intellectual Property and
Competition and Law at Hogarth
Chambers. He was called to the
bar in 1992 after spending 9 years
as an academic engineer.
In addition
to his legal qualifications, he has
B.Sc and Ph.D in Engineering and an
M.Sc in Economics.
He is an
external examiner for the department
of Commercial Law at Queen Mary
College in intellectual property and
his is a member of the Department of

Louise Townsend is a Senior Associate in Pinsent Masons' Outsourcing, Technology and Commercial Group. She specializes in data protection and freedom of information for both the public and private sector. For freedom of information she provides advice on handling requests, applying exemptions, conducting internal reviews and handling appeals as well as on records management.

Mark Watts
is a Partner at Bristows, specialising in non-contentious IT matters, particularly
transactional matters, such as negotiating software development,
system integration and outsourcing agreements.
He has
particular expertise in relation to E-commerce and data protection.
Mark joined
Bristows in 2003 from IBM, where he was in-house counsel for
more than six years. Mark held many positions within the
IBM Law Department, including Global Data Privacy Counsel,
European Software Counsel and European Business Process
Outsourcing Counsel.
